Pattison International International and Supporting Races at Woodbine

20.48 Woodbine, Nearctic Stakes

The Charlie Hills trained Cotai Glory sets a decent standard in this sprint. He is really a 5 furlong sprinter in Britain but if he is to make the step up in distance then a quick 6 furlongs on this side of the Atlantic is the place. He is rated a 2/1 favourite on the US morning line, but he is available at 11/4 with Ladbrokes.

One of the leading runners from the US is White Flag who is looking for his fourth straight win. He’s a sprinter in form and at 7/2 with Betway he looks the bet here. He’s drawn stall 2 and usually takes a mid-field position and although he’s not won by far he has won his races with little fuss. An interesting runner at 33/1 is Yorkton who has won here at Woodbine on both turf and Synthetic who turned in a big performance in the King Corries here in September; he will try and make all but has been drawn wide in 6.

22.28 Woodbine, E. P. Taylor Stakes

Nezwah flopped in this race last year and she is worth taking on again as the favourite. Rain Goddess and Blond Me have also failed to show there form on previous visits over to this side of the Atlantic so it could pay to side with Graham Motion’s Quidra. Quidra won a group 2 contest here at Woodbine in September and has gone close against the best females in the US; she is a best priced 3/1 for the race and she should run her race.

23.10 Woodbine, Canadian International

Idaho has twice raced in the US, going of favourite both times and failing to run to form each time and he’s favourite this time. Erupt won this race last year and he looks the one to side with again, despite a poor season so far. He has moved from Francis-Henri Graffard’s stable in France to Graham Motion following his poor run in the Sword Dancer at Saratoga. Both Erupt and Idaho ran a strange race, both raced prominently, tracking the leader but were out-sprinted in the straight by several US middle distance horses that are below the top level. Erupt will get Lasix for the first time and the return to Woodbine could see him return to winning ways; he is a best priced 7/2.

Recommended Bet
Erupt, 7/2 generally available
