Charlie Appleby’s Sound And Silence sets a decent standard in this group 3 contest for 2-year-olds over 5 furlongs. He has won 3 of his 5 runs to date; he is currently a best priced 5/4 but if he goes off anywhere near 3.0 on the PMU he is a bet for me. While Racebets go 5/4, they are alone pricing him up odds against, with him being priced up as short as 2/5 with other bookmakers.
Mister Picnic and Over Reacted ran in the group 3 Prix de Cadbourg 5 weeks ago, which was won impressively by Tantheem. Tantheem was sent off the favourite for the group 1 Prix Morny after that but didn’t figure behind Karl Burkes Unfortunately. Mister Picnic finished third, beaten 4 lengths with Over Reacted a further 1.5 lengths behind in fifth.
There is good reason to think Over Reacted can reverse positions with Mister Picnic as she failed to settle early in the race having missed the break and was stepping up to 6 furlongs having looked well at home over 5 furlongs previously.
Back down to 5 furlongs and at a best priced 16/1 in a 7 runner field she rates the bet for me if Sound And Silence isn’t a decent price on the PMU.
