Unexposed Spotify in the Prix De Fontainebleau

2.45 Chantilly: Prix De Fontainebleau

Andre Fabre’s Xaarino and the three time winner Markazi look the standouts in this group 3 race and the two likely market leaders, but it could be worth chancing the unexposed Spotify.

Spotify is taking a big step up in class but comes in to this race as the only undefeated horse, following a win on turf last September and a win on the all-weather at Chantilly on the 2nd of March. He just prevailed by a neck on his racecourse debut but turned in an impressive performance on his seasonal debut to quicken up spritely and win by 3 lengths under a hands and heels ride. While his task was fairly straight-forward last time and he takes on much better opponents here; unexposed and fairly lightly raced horses do excel in these types of trials against much more established rivals.

His trainer Cristophe Ferland was impressed with his performance at Chantilly and a win here could see him take his place in the 2000 guineas at Newmarket , for which he has an entry. He is available at 9/1, which looks worth chancing on his potential and fitness on his side.
