BOOTS AND SPURS & DUNGANNON

With Cheltenham just around the corner I feel like I am scratching around looking for a bet. Everything just appears low class and it is hard to get motivated on the races on offer. I did not really find anything over the jumps,. However I do think I will have a little go on BOOTS AND SPURS today.

This horse has not won in his last 17 attempts. In fact we need to go back to Turf form and June of last year for his last win. I am certainly not basing this bet on that run at all, Turf and All Weather are completely different entities. I am basing this on the fact that the Favourite won @ 6f and is moving up in trip, also the selection is capable @7f. There could be a strong argument that this horse is better on the all weather @ 8f as his record suggests 2/10 wins came at this trip, opposed to 1/13 @ 7f He is also 0-6 @ this course over this trip, as opposed to 2-5 @ 8f. Maybe it would be wiser to wait until this horse goes back to the more favourable 8f trip. Funny enough he is entered in the Lincoln on 1st April. That looks a bridge too far, surely. I will stick with this today in the hope he just may rekindle some of the previous talent he has shown in the past.

15.55 Dungannon is worth a chance here. He certaintly is not getting better with age that is for sure, and when I look at the Favourite here Sir Billy Wright I just see bad value. The value for me here is to take on this favourite, I could choose a couple, but I will pin my colours to Dungannon to put up a decent effort here
