15.35 Kempton BetBright Handicap Chase - Race Profile
The BetBright Chase has some very strong profiles and I hope that it is a good starting point for my first article for the site
Since 2008 all bar one winner has followed the profiles listed below. In 2012 the 3 qualifiers finished 2nd, 4th and 7th.
- Horse Age - Between 7-y-o and 9-y-o
- Official Rating - Between 138 and 154
- Horse Runs in last year - Between 3 and 7
- Days Since Last Run - 21 to 90 days
- Placing Last Time Out - 1st, 2nd 3rd or Pulled Up
There are 3 qualifiers this year and they are DOUBLE SHUFFLE, IRISH SAINT and THREE MUSKETEERS
DOUBLE SHUFFLE
The horse won well last time out when trying this trip for the first, but he still made one or two errors and this is a step up in class again. In 3 attempts above Class 2 he has finished: 3P5. He does however go well on this ground (good: 12421) and all 4 of his wins have come when racing 31 to 60 days after last race (4 wins from 7 runs).
IRISH SAINT
The horse loves this track and has figures here of: 111. He was going really well last time over this distance until weakening between the last two and I hope that this flatter track and better ground help him stay. The horse has a good record in January and February of 2121313 and has won 4 from 10 when racing 8 to 30 days after last race.
THREE MUSKETEERS
Won a small field garduation chase last time oer 2m5f and could run well if coping with this bigger field and classier horses. All of his wins have come on soft ground and in fields of 1 to 7 runners. He has struggled when racing off a mark of 151+ as record of 546 shows. He does go well when rested between 16 to 60 days - 115U1, but his record on flat tracks reads: 336.
PACE
Kempton is track that tends to suit front runners or those who race prominently and all three of the qualifiers fall into that category, so none to discount on pace
Of the three qualifiers I am discounting THREE MUSKETEERS and will be concentrating on IRISH SAINT (EW) and DOUBLE SHUFFLE (Win)
