The Scottish Grand National

Good Morning

Using trends and profiles I have been having a close look at today's big race and I hae narrowed the race down to the following 4 horses

ARPEGE D'ALENE (best odds 10/1 Corals 1/5 1,2,3,4,5,6)

The horse ran well in National Hunt Chase last time out at Cheltenham and this proed that he can go well at these extreme distances. Record on good or GTS reads: 2521514. The horse does go well in big fields and does seem to prefer flat or slightly undulating tracks. Mr SP Bowen is 2 from 6 when riding.

PREMIER BOND (best odds 9/1 Bet365 1,2,3,4,5)

Has been stepping up in trip and it would seem that this sort of trip is well within his range. His record on good and GTS reads: 213171 (does like faster ground). Mr Bass is 3 from 6 when riding this horse and record on LH track reads 4 wins from 7 runs (flat track: 1)

SUGAR BARON (best odds 18/1 Paddy Power 1,2,3,4,5,6)

I do feel that this horse has been crying out for this trip the way he was staying on after been outpaced in the KimMuir oer 3m2.5f last time. The horse has won on ground ranging from GTF through to heavy. Mr N Boinville has a record of 1601 when riding the horse. When racing 31 to 60 days: 14103 and record on LH reads: 1106.

ALVARADO (best odds 25/1 Corals 1,2,3,4,5,6)

An old favourite of mine and finished second in this race last year, now 12 and the trends are not as good for that age group, however he does seem best off light weights when racing in these big handicaps. Has dropped down the weights and does go well on decent ground. Brian Hughes takes the ride and am hopeful he can run well again
