Taareef Can Reverse Form With Recoletos in the Prix d’Ispahan

2.37 Lonchamp, Prix Saint-Alary

Laurens’ second place finish in the 1,000 guineas is form way beyond what any of these have achieved in this prestigious race, but the two unexposed and undefeated fillies could be anything. With only five runners this could turn in to a tactical race and while Laurens does like to race prominently, she is going to have to set her own pace here if With You decides not to force it. With You and Flowrider both look very good and both can be backed against the favourite at 7/2 and 8/1 respectively.

Recommended bet
With You 7/2 & Flowrider 8/1

3.50 Longchamp, Prix d’Ispahan

Recoletos was very impressive last time out beating Jimmy Two Times with today’s rival Taareef back in third. Conditions favoured Recoletos against Taareef, who received weight and also had ground conditions very much in his favour. Quicker ground is what Taareef needs, so todays good to soft will be more suitable. While Recoletos is a worthy favourite, Taareef at 100/30 has to be the bet here with conditions more in his favour this time around.

Recommended bet
Taareef, 100/30

4.25 Longchamp, Prix Vicomtesse Vigier

Vazirabad has won this race for the last two years and will probably go off around evens for this year’s event. He won the last two editions after a two month break following wins in the Dubai Gold Cup, which he won for the third consecutive year so all seems to point to a repeat again, though this year’s opposition looks much stronger than in recent renewals. Ice Breeze is rated his equal according to official ratings, though Vazirabad is a much better horse and his win record proves it. Doha Dream hasn’t won since October 2016, but he brings in some high class form over middle distances and has taken the step up to staying races in his stride. He very rarely runs a bad race and has a great record of placing. Unlinke the top two, Vazirabad and Ice Breeze, he escapes a penalty and if the favourite fails to reproduce after the lay-off he could surprise at a decent price; he looks a solid each-way bet to place at 10/1.

Recommended bet
Doha Dream, 10/1 each-way
