Stormy Antarctic Can Upset Jimmy Two Times at Saint-Cloud

2.45 Saint-Cloud

Last year’s winner of this race, Jimmy Two Times is well clear on the ratings and comes in to this race much better treated than last year when carrying a penalty but it could be worth Chancing Ed Walker’s raider Stormy Antarctic, if he’s a decent price on the PMU.

He is currently a best priced 4/1 with the UK bookies, but over 6/1 on the PMU and with Andre Fabre’s Jimmy Two Times sure to be popular with the French public he could end up a decent price on the PMU. The ground is desperate at Saint-Cloud, currently 5.4 on the penetrometer (very heavy) and while he has won on heavy ground over 5 furlongs, one mile in desperate ground could be stretching his stamina. Stormy Antarctic has shown a liking for soft ground and has performed well in France, finishing second in the group 1 Criterium International as a 2-year-old. As a 3-year old he finished second to Zelzal in the group 1 Prix Jean Prat and was only beaten 3 lengths in a class field in the Prix Jacques Le Marois. He finally got his head in front at Chantilly last October when comfortably taking a listed event on soft ground with ease.

Even though Stormy Antarctic is a craven winner, his form in France has looked much better and he looks worth chancing against the favourite if the price is right.
