So French Can Win the Grand Steeple-Chase de Paris for the Third Time

3.15 Auteuil, Grand Steeple-Chase de Paris

So French has won this race for the last 2 years and although he looks to figure down the betting, he can’t be discounted over this extreme distance of 3m6f that he seems to excel at. Bipolaire and Perfect Impulse look the main dangers, but he’s beat them both in this race previously. The 5-year-old Edward D’Argent is stepping up in distance but if he takes to this extreme distance then he will be dangerous, but at 8/1 So French is the bet here to win his third Grand Steeple-Chase de Paris.

Recommended bet
So French, 8/1

3.55 Auteuil, Grande Course de Haies d'Auteuil

This race could see some really big prices on the Mullins’ horses as the field has several popular French horses like De Bon Coeur and Alex De Larradya representing the home team. The step up to 2m5f saw De Bon Coeur beaten for the first time by Alex De Larredya in a completed race and she is stepping up an extra 4 furlongs today which has to be a big negative. Nicky Hendersons Lami Serge could well win this for the second time, but he looks quite short in the betting as this looks much tougher than last year.

Willie Mullins has 4 runners in the is race, and I’m tempted to dutch three of them that could go off around the 20 – 40 mark on the PMU. Yorkhill and Killultagh Vic have some fantastic form but have been a little below par lately, but they could quite easily bounce back at big prices over these easier obstacles, Coquin Mans looks to be on the upgrade.

Recommended bet
Yorkshill, Killultagh Vic and Coquin Mans, on the PMU, ½ point on each
