Simplicity for the forth coming flat season

In the coming weeks we can put together a simple portfolio of Micro methods that can be followed this flat season.

The turf flat season is fast approaching so I felt now may be a good time to start talking about arming ourselves with some simple betting plans for the forthcoming season ahead. The first simple method that is easy to follow is to be used exclusively on 3 year old plus handicaps. The idea here is that we will attempt to imploy a strategy to isolate an improving younger horse.

RULES

  • The rules as stated above are simplistic. Starting from the top of the handicap work you way down and find the first 3 year old that has finished 1st 2nd or 3rd on his last run.
  • How ever many runners there are in the handicap do not stray further than the halfway mark. Example of this would be 10 runners, we would cut off after the first 5 runners from the top.
  • If there are no runners in the top half of any handicap then there will be no bet.
  • DO NOT GO BELOW THE TOP HALF OF THE HANDICAP. The reasoning behind this is the official handicapper has already assessed this race and the best horses are carrying the weight, if we start looking in the bottom half of the handicap we are going against the method.

This method has shown profit in previous seasons, this is of course no proof it will profit in the future. It is a solid method and the logic behind this is an improving 3 year old can be very hard for the Official handicapper to assess and keep tabs on. Where as older horses he has assessed many times over and he is likely to have quite an accurate measure of ability.
