The excitement of Cheltenham as it is getting very close now. This Sandown card is a nice appetizer, The Imperial cup is a race I will never forget as one of my first ever bets Olympian won the race. Maybe if he had lost I would not be so hooked, and not have wasted as much of my time, as I have on racing. He won so lets concentrate on today.
Sandown.13.20 Zalvados has the best form in this race, he will be my pick here. I am never a fan of bringing lower grade track form, this what Highgrove Percy brings, he was hotly fancied and did the job, he is going up in grade and now must prove it. Gregarious has track form, but the race looked a tad easier than the task set for Zalvados. It will be disappointing if the winner does not come from these top 3 rated horses. Zalvados is the selection for me.
14.25. I am very keen on WILLOUGHBY HEDGE. This horse did everything right over this track and trip last time and I will follow him to follow that win up, this will need to be his very best effort off a mark of 132. I am going against 3 horses rated in the 160s that could be stupidity. I just think as he has arrived from 2 very flat runs he can make a very bold bid here to follow up his previous win.
15.00. It would be an outstanding training performance here, if Fixe le Kap wins. I am drawn towards him, but topweights do not win this race. I wonder if he will be back out for a handicap @ Cheltenham. I would be quite happy if he is halfway down the field here, then I may have a small bet on him @ Cheltenham. I think we need to look @ horses carrying under 11.02lbs. I am going for an outsider here and I am drawn towards, Darebin. To back this you need to remove your brain, and then replace it with your heart. I think I am biased as I saw this win @ Lingfield and I was convinced with the style of his win he would win something good. I backed him @ Fontwell afterwards, and an effort like that will see him tailed off here. I cannot forget the horse I saw @ Lingfield, I hope that horse turns up here as he will not look a 20/1 shot that is a promise.
