Race Profiles - The Lincoln 15.35 Doncaster

The Lincoln today gives me an opportunity to give a 'Trends sighter' for the flat season to come

I have listed below what I think are the main trends for todays race

  • Age - Between 4-y-o and 6-y-o
  • Horse Runs in last 365 days - Between 4 and 10
  • Must have won a Class 3 race or higher
  • Jockeys claim can be a maximum of 3lb
  • Last time out ran in a handicap

Using the simplified criteria (I will not be looking at races in the future with more than 6 positive criteria) leaves us with a shortlist of the following

OH THIS IS US

The horse if we looked at the weight criteria would not qualify as no winner in the last 9 years has carried above 9-04 to victory

This horse has a great record when racing in April and May of: 111 and won on his only visit to this track. Has won 3 from 6 on tracks with slight undulations but on the negative side has never won after a layoff of 121 days+. Has been racing in Dubai which can be a positive for this race.

DOLPHIN VISTA

Another to have a good record in April and May of: 121. Has won on ground ranging from good through to heavy and trainer does have a good record in this race. The slight question marks I have are that all wins have come when racing around a bend and again has never won after a break of 121 days+

INSTANT ATTRACTION

Was third in this race last year and does like ground with some give in it. Jack Garrity has won 3 times and placed 7 times from 16 rides on this horse. When racing off a weight of 9-00 in handicaps: 161

WITHENSEA

At his best on Good or softer ground and his record at this track reads: 18518. Tony Hamilton has won 2 from 7 rides on this horse. Yet to win a race above Class 3 and his record when racing at 1m reads: 70

CONCLUSION

Although high enough in the weights I can going to pick OH THIS IS US (11/1SkyBet 1,2,3,4,5,6) and INSTANT ATTRACTION (22/1 SkyBet 1,2,3,4,5,6)
