Hunaina Worth Chancing at Lingfield

3.40 Lingfield

A really open race but it could be worth chancing the French raider Hunaina at decent odds. She was previously trained by Michael Halford in Ireland before moving to the French stable of Henri-Francis Devlin in January. She struggled to break her maiden on turf but won the first time of asking on the poly-track, though she later went on to win a minor Leopardstown handicap on turf. She has stepped up markedly in form just before the switch in stables, having won her last two races, and if not for traffic troubles would have won a listed event at Deauville on the poly-track when running for the first time for Devlin. She won last time out here at Lingfield on the poly-track, so she’ll be in familiar surroundings and she has proved she can handle travelling.

On her previous turf form she is way off these and her current price of 8/1 probably reflects the doubt as to whether she is as good on turf as the poly-track, but at the current prices it is worth chancing that she can carry that improvement back over to the turf.
