German Raider Instigator Gets His Ground

12.10 Deauville

Jean-Pierre Carvalho’s Instigator looks to have conditions in his favour in this 1m4f race with the ground currently very soft. He finished second to Akhiro in the Prix Turenne at Deauville on the 13th of September on similar ground where he only just failed to reel in the winner. He finished just over a length in front of Londres, who he meets again in today’s race; he is feared most as it was only his second career start, running an eye catching race under a sympathetic ride, finishing fast to take third.

On the French ratings it is Instigator and Londres that come out on top, but Andre Fabre’s other two runners, Casterton and Aim True are favoured on the PMU. Aim True has won 3 of his 4 races and his 3.5 length win in the Prix Nasrullah at Saint-Cloud gives him the slight edge over Instigator on a line through Parabellum who they both have beaten. Aim True finished a length further in front of that opponent over 1.5 furlongs less. Londres is currently hovering around 5.9 on the PMU, with Instigator at 9.4. Andre Fabre’s horses are always popular on the PMU, and I can’t resist having a saver on Londres as he could come on considerably for his last run, but the Germain trained Instigator stands out at the current prices.
