Back-to-lay Wolf Sword, Mailshot and Plan Again

2.15 Carlisle

Wolf Sword and Mist Kit look the pace in this race but the former, Wolf Sword looks the one to side with in-running, having traded odds-on in his last four races. He has finished no worse than third in in last six races and looks a decent bet to go close again off just 3lb higher than his last handicap race last month. He drops back in distance, which looks to suit; he currently trades around 5.40 on Betfair.

3.00 Musselburgh

Mark Johnston’s Mailshot could be the one to side with, being one of only three runners in the race with a run under his belt this year. He has been on the go since the 26th of December and this will been his sixth run since then, coming in to this race off a win over a mile at Chelmsford. He’s up 5lb for that victory, but as a pace horse with fitness on his side he could go close to trade low; he currently trades around 12.50 for a back-to-lay.

4.45 Newton Abbot

Plan Again ran a great race last time out after nearly a 22 month lay-off, finishing second to Milord at Taunton in a 3 mile hurdle race, which is probably the limit of his stamina. Dropping back to 2m5f he looks a great bet to go close again, off the same mark of 114. He was rated 122 and looks to be on a decent mark after a good showing last time; he currently trades around 6.80 for a back-to-lay.
