Back-to-lay Isabellesprincess and Flugzeug

4.30 Southwell

Isabellesprincess returned from a 16 month lay-off, under new trainer Henry Oliver to run a good race for a long way before tiring where she traded down to 2.02 in-running from a BSP of 25.84.

She was rated 110 when she last ran in October of 2015, the handicapper dropped her down to 101 for her first run after such a long break, today she races off a pound lower, off just a mark of 100. Prior to her break she was racing over much further than what she did last time out and the distance of just under 2 miles which she races over here today. She handled the shorter trip with ease, tracking the leaders, before moving in to the lead 3 out. She will encounter quicker ground today, but her best performances have come on better ground, including a point-to-point win on good ground, so today’s forecast of good to soft shouldn’t be a problem. She seems pretty solid on the exchanges, trading around 4.10 for a back-to-lay.

4.50 Lingfield

Flugzeug has traded below at least half his BSP in-running in 5 of his last 6 races, including here over course and distance on his penultimate start, on similarly heavy ground. He travels well in his races and last time out he moved from mid-pack to chase the leaders which saw him trade down to 6.80 in-running from a BSP of 36.0. He races off the same mark of 88, the same as the last time he ran here at Lingfield. Another good run can be expected under the same conditions; he currently trades around 5.90 for a back-to-lay.
