Back-to-lay Floramos, Chakisto and The Pierre Lark

3.20 Newcastle

Floramos makes her first venture in to handicap company in desperate ground at Newcastle after two promising runs in novice hurdles. She has traded below at least half her BSP in-running in 4 of her last 5 races, and last time she was backed down to 1.13 in-running from a BSP of 4.40 when she made stealthy headway from behind to move in to second place before blundering the second last. She currently trades around 4.0 for a back-to-lay in this small field mares handicap hurdle.

3.50 Newcastle

Both The Pierre Lark and Chakisto have great chances of trading low in this 2 mile handicap hurdle. Chakisto is relatively exposed but has hit form since he moved over from Ireland and has traded below at least half his BSP in 5 of his last 6 races, winning two.

Donald McCain's The Pierre Lark has only 6 runs under his belt under rules but has managed to trade below at least half his BSP in all outings. First time out he was beaten at 1.01 in a Bangor national hunt flat race; having gone clear 2 furlongs out he tired in the last 50 yards to be beaten 2 lengths in to second. He is a strong traveller who bottoms out quickly under pressure and could prove profitable to lay late in-running. You could back-to-lay both horses to make 1.5 points on each; with only one needing to be matched to show a profit.
